This project began in 2013 as a collaboration between Hospitality House, Appalachian State University’s ACT (Appalachian and the Community Together) program, North Carolina Campus Compact and AmeriCorps VISTA. We value our partnership with each of these organizations and will be forever grateful to them for supporting this project. In August 2017, our AmeriCorps VISTA contract expired and we began searching for new volunteer partnerships.
In 2018 we continue this project at a new location in conjunction with Winston-Salem Urban League and Senior Community Service Employment Program!
As a thrift store, Welcome Home Thriftique offers customers a dynamic shopping experience with quality secondhand and brand new items. All items are donated by our community and 100% of the proceeds support Hospitality House programs and services.
Welcome Home Thriftique is a premier destination for furniture, home goods, decor, antiques, collectibles, name brand and designer clothing - including the Anna Banana's Overstock Shop!
Donations are always accepted any time the store is open.
The mission of Welcome Home Thriftique is to further connect Hospitality House to the community as well as implement another revenue stream of continuous funding to support the organization.
What sets this store apart from others is that it provides clients of Hospitality House an avenue in which they can build a foundation for a successful future.
Clients have the opportunity to develop and further their skills and experience in the work force with the Foundation For Success job skills training curriculum and Resident internships that are at the heart of this project.
